What we do with your details
We collect as little as we can, use it only to run the league, and delete it when we no longer need it. The detail is below.

01Who we are
The Gujarati Cricket League is an unincorporated league run by a volunteer committee, organising amateur T20 cricket in England. We are the data controller for the information described in this notice.
You can reach us at info@ukgcl.com. We have no office or postal address — the committee is distributed and works remotely.
02What we collect
Only what you type into the registration form. Nothing is gathered about you in the background.
- Team name
- So we know which side is entering.
- Captain's name
- So we know who we are speaking to.
- Email address
- To contact you about your registration.
- Mobile number
- To contact you about your registration.
- Town or city
- To plan fixtures and venues sensibly.
- 18+ confirmation
- To record that you have confirmed your squad meets the age requirement.
- Your message
- Only if you choose to write one.
03Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details for one purpose: to contact you about your team's registration and to organise the competition you have asked to enter. That includes calling or emailing you to talk through the entry fee and squad requirements, and telling you about fixtures if your team enters.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — you have approached us about entering a league, and answering you is the obvious thing you would expect us to do with the details you gave us.
We will not add you to a marketing list, sell your details, or pass them to sponsors. If we ever want to email you about anything other than the league itself, we will ask you first.
04Who else sees it
Members of the league committee, and two companies that provide the services we use to receive and store registrations:
- Netlify — hosts this website, receives the form submission and stores it for us.
- Google — provides our email, so a registration reaches us there too.
Your registration is not copied into any other system. These companies process the data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
05Where it is stored
Registrations are held in Netlify, and reach the committee by email. Both providers are based in the United States, so your details are transferred outside the UK. Each operates under safeguards approved for UK transfers, including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
06How long we keep it
If your team enters the league, we keep your details for the season you play in and for two years afterwards, so we can contact you about following seasons.
If your team registers but does not end up entering, we delete your details twelve months after we last spoke to you.
You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
07Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete it;
- stop or restrict how we use it;
- object to us using it, including on legitimate interests grounds.
Email info@ukgcl.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
08Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. We do not track you, profile you, or measure your visit, and there is no automated decision-making anywhere in this process.
One thing worth knowing: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers and Google sees your IP address in the process. No cookie is set by it.
09Complaints
If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first at info@ukgcl.com so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.
10Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle your details we will update this page and change the date at the top. This notice was last updated on 20 September 2026.
